Darkest Hour, appreciations, new cell + wallets

Yeah, its high time I do a post. Its been yonkers (cybertime!) since I last appeared here. Loyal readers (if any!), I do apologise. If you all must know whats been keeping me off the blog, see above. Working with people for the Marketing project culminating to a 5000 word report with extra appendices spanning 52 pages. I haven't slept in days, literally. Before that, it was the marketing test. I mugged like nuts and worked my ass off, but there was this horrible dude in class who goes through life by leeching off others. Needless to say, I was estatic to find out, the day before I handed in the project (Friday) that I got a High D for the test. Then the next day, I found out this leech got a High D too. He was announcing happily after the class because of his height "advantage", he cheated and copied answers from students around him. Jerk. Now I feel like my HD is a joke, especially when put next to his. Did I mention he's in the same project group as me? And yes, he didn't do anything for the project, lamented that he wasn't given a chance to do stuff. Lies. We gave him a bazillion chances and he never once showed up with anything. He wrote his name on the cover of the project without a hint of guilt. Never in my decades on this earth have I met someone like that! Its both amusing and appalling. Its weird but grades never meant this much to me til now. It must be a HD curse. The stakes always get so high when you fare well. The pressure to keep up is mounting...

That package there is for a wonderful girl who supports me so much. I'm lending the picture to say thanks to people who have left wonderful feedbacks at my etsy account, emails of appreciations, condolences for the nonsense in school(eeep!), sweet comments at my flickr photos and random niceness of strangers and friends. Its a tough time, but all that niceness saw me through. All that's left now is the finals. Mugging alone seems like a good idea! Oh well, I learnt it the hard way. Never lend out your notes. Over my dead body! LOL

Moleskine has been my companion for years now. Funny how they're turning snazzy. Hell, the red really attracted me. I got this set from a local auction site and it came quickly. I'm loving the extra doodle book and stickers! Lying there beside is my new cell. The old pink one was giving weird problems so dad happened to get this one. Its pretty much the same phone, 'cept thinner? The last one was a V3X and this one's a V3xx. Funny how adding one X makes a big difference. Thats what they said about mathematics too...

New wallets! And more to come! Choco apples, mushroomated and pink sakura are still hanging around in my shop. Any takers?

Birthday comes once a year

Happy birthday to me. Another year older, another year closer to the six feet under. A tad morbid, but hey, its my day, I can mope if I want to. Its been a good year, especially with florspace. Though, looking back, I must say I'm better off without school and just being by myself, at home with my sewing machine and mountains of fabric. How fun. Inject school into my life, with the boppin' young en's I can't handle and travelling in the afternoon heat, causes my body to react in funny ways. Firstly, I get charred, which I really dislike. I much prefer to stay white, thank you very much. And now, I'm getting weird swells around my lips, like lip ezecma or something. Its annoying me quite a bit especially when I look much like Ronald McDonald. Sigh.

Anyways, mum and dad bought me dinner on wednesday and this cake yesterday. Its pretty yummy boston choco with um, a thick layer of cream inbetween. I went out with my posses tonight to Balcony for dinner and they bought a chocolate cake too. I think I ate 1/3 of that thing. Must.Go.Exercise.

I took a stroll down Orchard road after I left them. It must have been 11.30pm at night but it was still exceedingly hot. Kinda felt like being in a sauna, steaming in my own icky juices. Took a pit stop at Borders and picked up a Paperchase laptop tote in the traveller's print coz it looked interesting enough and I didn't have one. Also, a little late but, the Buble album and the Moleskine 2008 schedule book coz it always run out and I was determined to get one asap. I was reading "The World Is Flat" but they chased us out coz they were closing. The buses have ended service so I took the Night rider home. It wasn't surprising anymore when the bus was relatively full. 4million on a tiny island means its crowded everywhere, forest included, said my insightful friend at dinner tonight.

I share the same secret shame with Homer Simpson. We both eat flowers. I was at the supermarket the other day and found these. I needed an excuse to put them in the cart so I told my folks its my birthday.

There you go. Now you know everything about me.

At the cafe...

I'm writing on the public computer at a swanky cafe in Vivo City, overlooking Sentosa. No prizes for guessing which one I'm at and by the time you get here, I'd already left. haha Anyways, I'm not used to using a keyboard anymore, I mostly use my notebook so my typing becomes a lot retard.
I attended a wedding dinner last night. My cousin's. The legendary party girl is going down the dumps. Oops. She's marrying a great guy whom she has spent the last decade together with. Good for them. I'm just not the marrying kind. Sorry. Anyways, I was late, as usual. DH had work so we took a bit of time to get ready. Before that, I was watching Paris's video on The Superficial. I know I shouldn't have spent my get-ready time on the comp. As expected, I had my usual crisis. A wardrobe full of clothes, but nothing to wear. I decided on a gathered, layered black dress that made me look like a 12 year old. Threw on my crop jacket, my usual charm necklace and my platform Chris Lou's for good measure. At least I look somewhat grown up. DH was looking swanky, his new crisp white tailored shirt with ginormous stand-up collars and ultra chunky cuffs. He was wearing the new twisty cufflinks I got for him for christmas. Nice.
Took a cab and rushed in while the food music was playing. The bride and groom was already in. We were ready to dig in moments later. Great! No waiting. Honestly, I'm not a banquet person. I'd escape at the mention of it so I'd be dragged to one screaming and crying if I ever had to. This one was my second this year. A month ago, it was my other cousin. I wore pants. SO?
The dinner ended surprisingly quickly with little to no awkardness. I got to try Wolfblass's new Eagle hawk range. Cabernet Sauvignon, no less. Young wine, but has good flavor and is robust. Leaves a tingling spicy feeling on my tongue right after. Good stuff! Everyone left soon after since it was a monday. I took a stroll down Orchard Road with DH. I don't remember much except I was drowsy and sputtered nonsense. DH won't tell me what. :P I'm surprised I managed to stumble home with my patent leather shoes intact. LOL
I'm out today to get fabrics, the Moleskine exhibition at PageOne and generally to drink coffee, lots of it & to bask in lovely Tuesday. I totally love my job! I've already listed a really lovely wristlet for V-Day. ;) Its really really nice and I really want to keep it. Sigh.
