The Shinzi katoh Collection

Presenting the Shinzi Katoh Collection! :D We're a little obsessed with this Japanese illustrator, designer & zakka stuff creator! We've collected these prints over these couple of years and finally get to do a little collection! I presented myself with this challenge, 4 mama totes + 2 Kid totes in 4 days. Day and night I worked on it! It was tough, but really really enjoyable to work on! (much more than the impending exams I have to mug for. LOL)



Anyways, look out for them in store this weekend! We hope you guys love them as much as I enjoyed creating them! ;+)

Tote sets!

Productive wednesday turned out to be pretty fun! Thanks mr coffee. All 4 totes are loose in my little shoppe! Got some summer moolah? Get yourself a pretty tote set! All made with my absolute fav raw cotton for the insides and cute little measure tape and zakka rick rack you saw during wip. It also took me some good time to locate those fabulous soft yet strong woven cotton straps for the handles. All the way from Japan, they are pretty expensive but hell, it works much better and looks fab too. I think I had much fun matching the handles! I hope I did I good job! Lots of designer fabrics are up here, Shinzi Katoh's Stroll, Puti de Pome's J'aime Paris, TABI's Biscuit & the rather rare and obnoxiously cute Safari. I had imported everything myself, 'cept Biscuit, which I had to have when I was in this very tiny fabric shop in Japan. I was carrying a crazy load but when I saw that, I had to have it! I still have a thing for red, Paris and vintage so it kinda explains the fabric choices too!



These fab totes also come with their own detachable/attachable mini wristlet! More are coming!

Shinzi Katoh Kids Land Everyday Tote Set

Kid's Land number 2! Yaay! Another tote set for a cute mom, a little girl or a big girl! Either ways, you're toting around town looking happy and fancy! I adore the cute sentiments on the already cute print of squirrels, mice and other critters! I made the inside of the pocket and the inside of the MiniB the same orange polka dot! So juicy and yummy the colors, I need a tic tac. heh

Perfect purse for summer! Strong and sturdy, bright and sunny!

Mini mini tote set Shinzi Katoh's Branche

A new born! Just a wee little set out of mommy's tum couple of days ago. She's SO painfully adorable! Bit too far, I know. LOL But seriously, this tiny little thing is almost half the usual everyday tote size. Even the beautiful branches and birds fall perfectly into the picture. Methinks its perfect for lunchtime. Just right for a wallet, cellphone and tissues. Plus it comes with a MiniB Wristlet! How cute is that?! ;+)

Shinzi Katoh Branche No. 4

I'm seriously sick of studying and infact, have gotten a bit sick too! The terribly warm weather is wrecking havoc on loads of people. Everyone's been sniffing and coughing in the library and I was mugging for the econs paper. (1 more to go Friday!) I think I got some of the germs. Oh well. So I decided to finish up this super cute tote set! I missed the first set I did with the black woven cottten handles but have been having trouble locating the right one so I had to pick it up before I could finish it. I love the sewdish cotton peeking out from the top! I didn't "finish" this one as you can see, no sewing lines on the Branche fabric. Actually the inside snaps were in the way but methinks it looks really zakka anyhoo. :+) But I had to overstitch the handles coz I experimented with a bunch of crazy thick & heavy texts inside and I could see the inside stitch a bit at the handles. I decide I won't be able to sleep at night without the overstitching. LOL So 4 small sewing spots on the inside can be seen. No biggie coz this way your tote will never fall apart! Yaay!

Shinzi Katoh No. 2 - SOLD

Yaaay! We have number 2 right in our etsy shop! I got a few angry emails about how the last one sold so quickly so we did number 2. Lots cuter, with a grosgrain ribbon trim on the handle! We're pretty proud of the sturdyness of the tote. I'm definitely a big fan of structured bags, and hate the lumpy ones. :P



Side view with proportionately places branches and cute birdies! We used the same cream signature thread on the grosgrain ribbon to create a stitching effect. I think it also strengthens the handle loads. The handles are 17", perfect for handcarry or on-shoulder.



Strip of black cotton around the top gives the snaps better stability and looks cute too! We used slim snaps coz they look better and won't get in the way. Cute matching pocket!



Perfectly aligned 4" base!



Love the cute print placement of the MiniZ+! Matching fabric tab with D-ring and 4" wristlet with elegant style clip. Go ahead and swing the MiniZ! Its double-stitched. :+)



And last but not least, my fav part! Super cute classic dot inside! The whole thing just comes together wonderfully. Je'taime!
