One of my favourite new color addictions! They just look so happy together! And methinks its a beautiful bridge between the seasons. Its gonna be autumn soon and there'll be loads of orange then. I've only got 5 days before I fly off to join my other half in Sydney, Australia for 2 whole months! But we had to release these cuties before we go on break! I don't wanna play favourites anymore, I love all of them, seriously! Talk about a very cute collection! We had a quiet release of about 6 new cubes about 2 weeks ago and they were swept up quickly! Suffice to say we've requests for them so we took sometime, work ourselves to no ends to come up with 16 new ones this time! Some reloads, some good old renditions and most of them adorably NEW! We'll be off on vacay soon, I'll be doing my yearly visit to my other half in Sydney, Australia and the rest of the poor overworked florspace elves will be given a break for 2 months, before we come back and work ourselves hard again! These cubes are plenty of time, concentration, buckets of sweat, even blood coz we prick ourselves too often to even think about 'ouch'! No way does any blood or sweat actually plops on these precious cube coz no one wants that, literally! LOL The lovely satisfaction comes when its fresh off the sewing table and I beam at each one, proud of how adorable the cubes look! I never had a child before, but I imagine its a little like that. ;+) We never compromise on quality, so you can be sure florspace things will see you thru your everyday activities! Yaay!

Oh cubes! Can't say how much I love them! I love thinking about them, cutting up fabric and painstakingly making them into perfect little cuties that are fit for the real rough reality, yet maintaining its absolute cuteness! How do I do it, asks many a peeps. Well, I just do work really hard on it though its hardly work to me. ^____^ Hmmm......I prolly say this one too many times but maybe it because I think so much about purses, I hardly ever deviate from it anymore. My life is such a wonderful patchwork of ever evolving, fabulous fabrics! Its like living a dream, everyday.
Here I present a wonderful batch of cubes, (only 2 left in my shoppe as we speak!) of my current favourite fabrics, by Shinzi Katoh and the new kid, In The Woods. I love this print a lot. Somehow it reminds me of Autumn Trees that has been long gone, split & made into purses & cubes for quite a number of wonderful people across the globe. I wish her well! In The Woods is less monotonous, with bit more colors and animals illustrating this beautiful time the woodland animals are having among the pretty olive green trees. Its my new fav!

Its not hot anymore. I'm not sweating while I type this and I've gotten lazier. Yeah, I'm downunder right now. Plane ride on a QA was nicer than usual. Much better than the last time I took it and the attendant literally yelled at me to keep my bag under the seat when I was pepetually throwing up at the same time. It was hell. This time was fine. I would have much preferred being on an SQ but beggars can't be choosers. I watched 27 Dresses on the plane, hopefully to change my image about marriage. It was a nice movie but I still somehow find it difficult to say yes to commitment. I think I'm more of an escapist of everything I put my name on the dotted line for. Terrible behavior. Anyhoo, I dragged DH to the Rozelle market yesterday and already was high on the good old stuff and cool weather. It felt so good to walk around autumn leaves with a cup of hot tea in hand browsing through vintage books and checking out wooden rolling pins, lace and typewriters. I was in heaven! I got a paid of cute old tin door knockers and couldn't resist the Big Day Out 07 bag with a mushrooms on it. OK....I saw the mushroom first. At $5, its an insane steal! And I'm loving the shape a lot. My old timey suitcase/luggage infatuation is seriously getting out of hand. Yikes!
NEWS - Although I've got the stuff in my shop with me, I'm afraid shipping charges here is pretty out of hand. Unless anyone's willing to pay $20 for normal airmail shipping to get a wallet shipped over to america, I think I'd launch the cube wallets I intended to in July instead. What does everyone think? I know DH would be jumping for joy coz I can spend tons more time with him instead. So much for bringing everything with me! *tear* Hmm....I guess I'll spend time with my reads and knit. Woo-hoo for sabbatical!
This poor cute wallet got relisted coz the buyer didn't want to reply to emails nor pay for it. Poor girl. So if you were hankering for this cutie, its in my shop! The lemon buttons are the last ones and they were great snaps from Japan. I loved these but alas, I'll have to make another trip! I'm also out of this yummy print so its rather likely that this is the last you'll see of these cute kokeshi dolls on a cheery lemonade background! :+)

I've been chided! Hogging purses is not a good idea. My gigantic wardrobe, the kind that would house a family in tough times is literally overflowing. Um, yeah, besides clothes, there's the toys, purses and more um, stuff. So when I wasn't releasing these super-coveted Attumn Trees cube, I got yelled at. By mom, no less. So there, this is the 3rd last one, i.e., there's only going to be 2 more left in the world before it goes extinct. Unfortunately, I couldn't locate this fab print when I was in Japan which was a major bummer. Its perfect for the cubes and everyone seems to love it! This 1/3 release though, has a tiny tiny issue. It isn't major to me, so you decide.
To uh, squeeze out every bit to make these yummy cubes, I had to squeeze out all the fabric I had! So hence, this one shows a tiny tiny bit of the selvedge text at the corner of the top zipper part. Just one tiny section, no biggie, I swear. The rest of the wallet is still in the usual fab quality and shape. You won't even see it most of the time coz it puffs up anyways.
Still, its really up to you! ;+)

Whew! Time is literally flying out my window here! The hot days are here again and I'm battling a bad throat(too much peanuts & chocolates!) and heat rash on my neck. I blame school. The stress level is rising, yet again. Sometimes I think its psychological but hell, it works on me. The local lecturers are hopelessly stuck to "memorizing & doing" instead of explaining. I wish I could study in Melbourne instead, at the main campus instead of doing it distance. They assure minimal difference but I feel it starkly already. Dang. Worst of all, less time to sew! My hands are itching badly to do something. My pieces are coming out waaaaaay too slowly than the ideas in my head. I think about new stuff all the time, sleeping, eating, bathing, dreaming, whenever, whereever! Its uncontrollable, ever since a long time ago, creating and building things in the air has been my pastime. ;+) Nonetheless, Woody Leaves (above) is up in my shop. Scratchy can't help posing with the leaves. I think he thinks the ferns are real. hee!
I saw this owl in the shop 2 weeks ago and couldn't help myself. Miss Fukurou(Owl) was pricey but really really adorable. Shakes her head at me, left to right whenever I try to buy something online. Tsk. Anyways, she's already inspired me to do toys & applique, which would come later (blame the school!), promise.
I doodled on CT's package since she mentioned she liked my owl doodle the last time. This doodle came before Miss Fukurou. Hmm....the similarities! (& unbelievable synchronicity!) Anyhoo, I always doodle on the bigger packages & FYI, its fun! I suppose people who receive them liked them too. I guess I'll continue til someone comes along and say, "dude, don't doodle no more, its crap." or something. :P
And then of course, I managed to do laundry last week. Um, I have absolutely no regards for the "don't show your laundry in public" thing. LOL Yeah, I wear a LOT of black in real life, black tees are my fashion staple. I think I'm happier in cyberspace. Real life here is mostly zombish like. Thats unless I'm bolted home & working in my dream factory! Whee!
Managed to make Mini Muffins for DH. Actually I used Betty Crocker's cookies package and I had those cute yellow cups lying around from last year so I added a tad more water and et voila, muffins! Because of the real choco pieces inside, they were throat worthy. Hey, thats where my sore throat came from! :+( Oh well, they were good while it lasted. We had a great time playing Burnout Revenge while downing these on Sunday. Perfect game for when you're stressed. Traffic checking & taking out competitors is priceless!
Try this. Take a large plastic bottle, cut it up and plant something. They look surprisingly good on the table. Its easy and environmentally sustainable. ;+)
Yeah, its official. DH is back. Its weird coz we haven't seen each other for a while and things have to change coz he's mostly at my place. No more crazy late nights at the computer and of course a serious lack of time for my sexy sewing machine. I can say bye to lazing in front of the telly in the arvos as well. Mum reported that the shopping area is flooded with human traffic and it takes a good half an hour to navigate thru the crawd when it would usually take 5. I'm permanently afraid of town right now. In fact, there's a lot of inertia to go out, especially when public transport is required. I'm not spoilt, I swear. I do appreciate my dad's car loads. Its tough to muster enough courage to face the public crawd sometimes. I wonder if its just me.
Anyhoo, that was yesterday's dinner. I made soup but it was difficult to show without it looking weird. LOL DH says he misses fried rice loads. I shot him a funny look then my memories of awful sydney food came back. I hope he gets fatter here. *shhhh*
My dear assistant, mum helped with these. She's becoming tremendously good at making cubes now. I won't be surprised; her workmanship has been commended again and again thru the years! I'm super glad I have her help with florspace. The Sakura in pink was a custom order for another fabulous etsyer and Keroppi was snapped up by a dear customer just a couple of hours after it was listed! I do feel really happy, loved & humbled that so many of you guys love florspace! Hmmm.....I'm starting to miss Keroppi! I only had a piece of that gorgeous fabric and I've got only scraps left so its tough to let it go. LOL DH liked Keroppi too. But I'm sure the new ower would love it too! ;+)

Realised I forgot to post these! My post vacation slump is happening right now. When I need the awful bedsheets to be washed, clothes to be ironed and put away and general housekeeping to be done. Now you know I'm not as clean and perfect as I look like! Awful procrastinating behavior can be so bad but sometimes I can't help it. At lease the parcels have been mailed. It was such great inertia to go out in the scorching sun and all. Its still 32degC here, no less. Eugh!
Anyhoo, new cubes are up in the store. A mix of traditionals and mod elements. They look like a weird bunch together but see them seperately and they each have their charms! Some of them have been snapped up, so get in quick. Don't say I didn't warn ya!
Yeah, its high time I do a post. Its been yonkers (cybertime!) since I last appeared here. Loyal readers (if any!), I do apologise. If you all must know whats been keeping me off the blog, see above. Working with people for the Marketing project culminating to a 5000 word report with extra appendices spanning 52 pages. I haven't slept in days, literally. Before that, it was the marketing test. I mugged like nuts and worked my ass off, but there was this horrible dude in class who goes through life by leeching off others. Needless to say, I was estatic to find out, the day before I handed in the project (Friday) that I got a High D for the test. Then the next day, I found out this leech got a High D too. He was announcing happily after the class because of his height "advantage", he cheated and copied answers from students around him. Jerk. Now I feel like my HD is a joke, especially when put next to his. Did I mention he's in the same project group as me? And yes, he didn't do anything for the project, lamented that he wasn't given a chance to do stuff. Lies. We gave him a bazillion chances and he never once showed up with anything. He wrote his name on the cover of the project without a hint of guilt. Never in my decades on this earth have I met someone like that! Its both amusing and appalling. Its weird but grades never meant this much to me til now. It must be a HD curse. The stakes always get so high when you fare well. The pressure to keep up is mounting...
That package there is for a wonderful girl who supports me so much. I'm lending the picture to say thanks to people who have left wonderful feedbacks at my etsy account, emails of appreciations, condolences for the nonsense in school(eeep!), sweet comments at my flickr photos and random niceness of strangers and friends. Its a tough time, but all that niceness saw me through. All that's left now is the finals. Mugging alone seems like a good idea! Oh well, I learnt it the hard way. Never lend out your notes. Over my dead body! LOL
Moleskine has been my companion for years now. Funny how they're turning snazzy. Hell, the red really attracted me. I got this set from a local auction site and it came quickly. I'm loving the extra doodle book and stickers! Lying there beside is my new cell. The old pink one was giving weird problems so dad happened to get this one. Its pretty much the same phone, 'cept thinner? The last one was a V3X and this one's a V3xx. Funny how adding one X makes a big difference. Thats what they said about mathematics too...

It was a pretty intense week, with projects and assignments lining up. This coming week, there's an economics MCQ test which I'm cramming for, hoping to squeeze some points before the finals. Project people are driving me nuts so I got pretty frustrated. We've got stuff straightened out a little so hope it'll be better from now, til the due date, 12th Oct. I've even pestered DH to proof-read our project, hopefully with his linguistics skills, we'll fare much better. Afterall, the project's gonna go over to Melb for marking. *fingers crossed* I know, I did Lingx too but he's much better. I won't sleep well without his help. :P
Etsy's not being very nice to us recently, with a whole bunch of people having problems listing new stuff so I'm gonna put them up here for a while til etsy gets back on track.

Life's essentials. Ikea's sexy new color - PINK! Makes me wanna go and buy up everything. Why no pink fabric though? Damn. Though, I'm seriously in love with my new pink Trofast bin. Its got this really mesmerizing tone of pink. Its up on my shelf so I get to look at everyday. Whee!
Basket of new wallets. They are seriously tough to make, and I'm so nazi about it, I don't accept anything not decent. So comes the procrastinating, the busy schedules and all. Some of them are spoken for, some of them up on etsy, some of them still waiting on adoption....

Today's sunset was gorgeous. I was rotting on the couch as usual after the evening briskwalk with mum, watching korean dramas and pigging out on tapioca chips my dad kindly brought back from Kuala Lumpur. I'm not usually the TV watching kind coz in my opinion, local dramas don't quite appeal to me. They are dripping of in-your-face propaganda which totally puts me off. I watch American TV mostly after 10pm when they come on. Unfortunately, I didn't get much sleep again last night. Something's torturing me. I have trouble falling asleep and when I do, I wake at 3, then 4, then 5 before I gave up and head for the loo with a magazine. Thats one more quirky thing about me. I like reading in the loo a lot. In fact, you might say I like hiding in there. Its weird coz I'm slightly claustrophobic yet I like smaller enclosed spaces where I know every corner. I can't accept black holes. Thats when I get into trouble with DH. He's an extremely private person. Bad childhood, 'nuff said. So I have to bend myself backwards not to pry into every single tiny detail which usually drives both of us nuts. Sigh.
Some of you have kindly offered condolences and sweet words so I do thank you from the bottom of my fabric bin. :+) Its amazing how the virtual community mean more to me than real life. There are days when I plan to go out, take a breather and walk around, but I end up at home, crafting and using the net. Somehow it does guarantee a lot more joy than dealing with frowners and nasties out there. I do hope this doesn't become a problem in the long run. Maybe these days I enjoy being more of a wifey wife (DH calls me that!), being home and performing wifely duties. It does seem more meaningful to me, to make someone else's life better than being in the rat race when you'd prolly be replaced faster than you can say "I quit". Hmm.....I suspect I'm getting older! Thats what my mum like to say, that I'm too old for my age.
So ramblings, ramblings. What's next? I had these pattern fabrics cut out before I headed off in april so I managed to get working on them. What do they look like? Cute cube wallets of course! I only had 3 made coz they can be difficult, though a lot of joy. I'm still using the mushroom one I made! Anyways, I plan to trickle them on etsy. Though the Retro Hello Kitty one prolly won't coz they don't allow. Boo. (pssst! I have a tote to match that one)
