For everyone who have begged and threatened with requests of boxy bottoms zippered pouches/purses, this one's for YOU! Its been in the works for a while and you know how it gets. I have a bazillion things running in my head at any one moment I swear its the reason why I have a bigger head. I can't fit into store bought hats and I'm not being funny.
Anyways, I can't say much else about these crazy yummy purses! They speak for themselves in use. The simplicity of it all makes it a fuss free purse you can just throw stuff in, yet the cute fabric really brightens your day! I use 2 in my bag all the time coz I can't seem to keep my mirror and lipcare & pot of lip gloss together otherwise. The other one holds my memorystick and tiny gadgets. I can't live without them myself! I've also included a d-ring, held up with strong but cute grosgrain ribbons double stitched so you can safely swing it. Need a strap with clip? You only have to ask. :+)

My last installation for the Go Big Or Go home inspiration of large totes. Apparently you guys love it so I'm going to try to add that to my inspirational repetoire. I'm running out of the gorgeous cream canvas that I use for the insides (or out if you please), so it'll warrant another fabric run this coming week or so. I get excited when I can go buy fabrics. Oh the feel of cloth on my hands and the sound of scissors running through it...
English rose is a decorator weight fabric, used for home upholstery and curtains, which would be a perfect weight for a sturdy tote. I'm dead-against substandard quality. So often I balk at the prices stores are selling for a mass-produced bag. No offence to anyone but it stinks both in prices and quality. My bags are entirely machine-washable. Got icky? Just drop it into the machine, short-cycle, gentle detergent, no softener and warm iron. Good as new.
I'm loving the muted & chic designer stripes, perfect as a year-round carryall. As its original fabric name suggests, it does remind me of the great England ladies at tea. It was a pretty intense week, with projects and assignments lining up. This coming week, there's an economics MCQ test which I'm cramming for, hoping to squeeze some points before the finals. Project people are driving me nuts so I got pretty frustrated. We've got stuff straightened out a little so hope it'll be better from now, til the due date, 12th Oct. I've even pestered DH to proof-read our project, hopefully with his linguistics skills, we'll fare much better. Afterall, the project's gonna go over to Melb for marking. *fingers crossed* I know, I did Lingx too but he's much better. I won't sleep well without his help. :P
Etsy's not being very nice to us recently, with a whole bunch of people having problems listing new stuff so I'm gonna put them up here for a while til etsy gets back on track.

Life's essentials. Ikea's sexy new color - PINK! Makes me wanna go and buy up everything. Why no pink fabric though? Damn. Though, I'm seriously in love with my new pink Trofast bin. Its got this really mesmerizing tone of pink. Its up on my shelf so I get to look at everyday. Whee!
Basket of new wallets. They are seriously tough to make, and I'm so nazi about it, I don't accept anything not decent. So comes the procrastinating, the busy schedules and all. Some of them are spoken for, some of them up on etsy, some of them still waiting on adoption....

Had dinner with my posses on Friday. We had a great time chatting away into the night. Can't believe its been a month already! Where does the time go, really? Yeah, I've also survived a month's worth of school by now. While looking at the units to be done, I'm actually having a good time this sem. The next one seems like hell - Biz Stats & Law?! Pray Mar 08 never comes. LOL My group people wanted a part of the project done by Friday so I had to stay up Thursday night to finish it. Its been a while since I'm up all night so I was really cranky the next day. I downed thick coffee all day to keep alive, since I was supposed to keep the dinner date that night too. I managed to get through it. *phew!* The project's tough, marketing, something I haven't really dabbled in before. I've always been more in the accounting and finance part of commerce. Marketing's killing me. Tsk.
Dinner at Ichiban Boshi at the Esplanade was fab. It was worth navigating through the impossible crowd at City Hall subway station & the City Link Mall. To my foreign friends, don't visit the city shopping areas Friday night, its pure hell. I was hardly walking. In fact, it kinda felt like India. No offence to anyone. Anyways, we had thickly sliced sashimi + sushi with the sunset behind. Its been a while since I've been to a good dinner place. I haven't bothered with aesthetics when I'm here coz the environment is so crummy, why bother? LOL It was all sunsets and dinnerwares in Sydney though.... I miss having coffee after dinner by the Darling Harbour. I guess I started really missing Sydney coz we headed to Max Brenner's after dinner. The Venezuela liquid choco was crazy thick but soooooooooo good. I needed that.
Yaaaay! More early pressies! Annie surprised us with gifts! Angela got her's late though. Awww....thanks for the great stuff! Those stationery are going to be so much help. I'm a klutz when it comes to organizing sometimes. It usually gets too organized & I eventually can't find my stuff or waaaaay messy, like my room right now. I've given up, mostly, coz I find it super tough to keep to a system, or at least a really rigid one. To think that I'm a virgoan! Jez, I'm a disgrace!
That box you see in the right corner is actually this! It popped out and it was squishy squishy! I'm not a fan of disney but this cube is super fun to squeeze! LOL It took me a while to realise the hole in the middle, its for my mobile phone. :P Anyways, it sits on my bed now coz I like to call DH in the middle of the night, not a la JD Salinger (Franny & Zoey, "I love you, I love you!" :P) but when I have a nightmare and I'm all alone in the room. It sounds stupid but I hate sleeping alone coz its kinda freaky. Blame all my friends who made me watch scary movies when I was younger. The spookyness spooked me, for life, dudes!

Saturday. Busy Busy Busy! More wallets, more MiniZs on the way.... The whole morning and afternoon was cutting and cutting up fabrics for more purses! Sanrio ones was a good portion and some others! Including new and super cute ones too! Lookout people!
Yikes, I got yelled at by someone who said if I didn't stop creating cute stuff, she'll go broke! LOL Mum helped a great deal with the sewing in the evening. I think I won't get to make more stuff if I didn't have her help! She's awesome at sewing, more so than me so never worry about quality. ;+) More wallets coming, super soon! Check out the dragon fruit there! Mum bought them from Tampines and they are really juicy and yummy especially when they are cold! They are truly a bunch of weird looking but delicious fruit!
The new Ikea catalogue came. *gasp* I'm a great fan and I practically live on the scent of the new Ikea catalogues. I spent a ridiculous amount of time going through the year's catalogue throughout the year. Its literally my bible. I'm spending my weekend with this. DND!

Jez louise! Is time running like the water at my tap these days or is it just me?! I'm not kidding, life has been very brisk for me these days! Tons of mail to send, tons of purses to make, tons of email to answer and school to go. But I do really enjoy what I'm doing (even the lecturers are better than the acca ones imo, no judgment!) so I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but this is like I've never lived before! At least I now know I'm gonna die happy.
Look at the bag of packages there! I've been going to the PO with 2 bags full each time (Baa Baa yellow sheep? heh heh). The nice PO lady has been putting up with me! Oh and she even ordered a purse from me yesterday!
I'm glad I have dad to take me there and back recently. He's been really nice when I request for transport. Taking public transport with these packages laden bags invite loads of curious stares, not to mention I look like a bag lady. I'm not a fan of stares & unfortunately, its like that here. I was happier in Sydney when people left you alone, even when I was wearing a girl's dress (Lolita syndrome, courtesy of Japan's EGL wave!). I'm still a big fan of those uber adorable lolita dresses (Baby SSB esp!) but I think I had one too many Reece's so I can't fit into them right now, not to mention I look ridiculous among the tees & berms clad Singaporeans becoz they're gonna stare & its freakin hot. Sigh.
Oh, and I threw my neck out. I think it was my sleeping position but its been bad since Friday. I can't move my neck much and it hurts quite a bit. I hope it goes away soon. The weather has been unforgiving too. :+( I heard the summer's been horrible to people in Europe and the torrential rains around the world. Take care and drink loads of liquids, friends. Oh and your pets too! And, take care of the earth. Seems like the theory of Day After Tomorrow's true? I hope its not too late to save the earth. This young and very pompous girl I came across while grocery shopping this evening exclaimed loudly that its "a waste of money buying groceries on Wednesday" coz its the day when we have to pay for plastic bags. Isn't that appalling? I always bring my own bags when grocery shopping, all shopping actually. I've been refusing plastic bags. Let's all try to do that? (Yeah, I'm a tree hugger. *shrug*)
I couldn't resist taking a pic! Its a super cute package going out to a big fan of my purses. I'm not gonna say who coz it'll spoil the surprise! Hope she likes... I miss wrapping things like that. Don't get me wrong, all your packages are painstakingly wrapped and noted, not to mention they take up loads of time to! I guess I just miss making the bigger totes & sets and really wrapping them up nicely. People who are waiting for my larger bags & wallets, please be a tiny bit more patient with me! They are coming, I promise. But since we're not a faceless company-type-factory, its takes more time to insert love and care in the creations. I don't create shabby things for money because I want you guys to really use the stuff I make! They're better in action. ;+) So just a bit longer! a bit a bit a bit........loooooooonger........ *sweat*
An awaited package from Melissa Michael came today! I made her a bag for the bag swap on flickr so she sent me these 2 clutches. I wanted something classy to bring out at night. I love these, perfect for my 101 black dresses I own. She wants me to alter it a bit so when I get to do that, I'll take a pic again. :+) Thanks Melissa! I love the cute flower fabric inside! And the Reece's! You really spoil me! And I'm gonna frame the cupcake card. Its got such cute sentiments! "Heaven is a cupcake with vanilla icing." YUM...
I think most people know by now, I'm a big fan of vintage! I've been looking for these red Kromex canisters forever. I finally found them recently and they're enroute to me! I'm not gonna say when or how or where I got them coz then you'll get to things before I do! :P Yeah, I'm bad. Anyways, a kitchen's not a kitchen without pretty canisters. It'll be an early b'day pressie for myself! Still a pity I couldn't find the whole set. These are the 2 smaller ones only. Oh well.

2 new wristlet pouches! They are slightly bit different from each other but both fabulous. I scored some really cute clips so I decided to use them here. Japanese quilt cotton fabrics with Japanese zakka-style linen. I think I'm too affected by the Japanese magazines. LOL

Ahh.....the quinessential patchy tote, with some of the favourite florspace fabrics rolled into one. Its been around for a while now but I wanted a good opportunity to list it and then, well, my tired ass dragged all over town to get supplies & post stuff, I had no time, literally. School's been driving me nuts (already!) and I really want to make up more MiniZs for the early Christmas shoppers, and at a great price, no less! ps, I had to sit around for an hour to leave 130 feedbacks just now. Oh yes, my elephants came, all the way from Nova Scotia where they were born, under the skilled hands of Hazel! I'm so in love with them....really. They live on my bed now, 500 thread count egyption cotton sheets. Should be happy! Actually I can't sleep on less coz my skin is super sensitive, couple with the Sensory disorder thingy, its the only thing I can sleep on. Anyways, if you haven't checked out Hazel's shop, you should already! I have here on my awesome people list, so go now. She's got very adorable little animals for sale too! YUM!

To destress, I watched Simpsons Movie yesterday. I know I prolly should've been one of the earliest to rush to the theatre but I like watching movies when there's no one around so I usually wait a couple of weeks before I go. And like magic, the theatre was empty yesterday. I was alone and for a while I felt kinda eerie. Its the Chinese halloween month afterall. LOL I'm not superstitious but you know, these things get to you. Anyways, the movie was hilarious but I do agree with the critics that its not fantastic. Did we have too high expectations? I'm not sure, but maybe a decade of 30 mins comedy has kinda sunk in that it becomes kinda stale when its a prolonged version. That said, I would still grab a copy of the dvd when it comes out because its great and made by a whole bunch of awesome people!

I made this really sweet zakka-style drawstring pouch the day before my 1st day at uni. I had only 1 thought in my head, dead woman walking. So, what does a woman on death row do? She crafts.
So I gathered some super cute scraps, cut them up and out pops one of the cutest pouches I've made. Who said stress was bad? I say it brings out the best in me. LOL But thats just me.
So this cute girly girl features the ever popular Sweetie Pie fabric, from Japan (where else?!) and a really really sweet slightly crinkled pink & white stripes on the top, bottom and inside. I think the crinkled look is fantastic. You don't have to press it and it still looks so cool. How convenient! Anyways, in the spirit of Japanese zakka style, I've also put a cute oat linen strip in the right bottom corner, that says, "So Sweet" with a pink cupcake right beside. How much cuter can it be!?Perfect for your lingerie/nightie on vacay and other girly stuff.
Its gonna be a one of a kind so pick it up today at my etsy shop. ;+)

Finally, a zakka pouch I can call my own! All that gorgeous Japanese craft magazines got to my head and my life. I wasn't sure if I was able to create one as good as the ones in the magazines. The challenge was daunting. i tried and tried but nothing seem right. I had to give up for a while. Then one fine day (no thunder!) I sat down, grabbing these few fabrics and created this guy, oops, I mean girl.
I had hand-carved quite a few mushroom stamps and 2 went perfectly on the pouch. It seemed a little dull still, so I went ahead and patch the infamous Japanese-import cotton canvas mushroom. It kinda felt like the finishing touches! So, even if the worst happened, the stamped mushrooms fades in the wash, which it prolly won't coz I used permanent inks from Japan and heat-sealed them, the cute red mushroom will still stand! Genius! LOL
Anyways, its soft & sturdy materials combined to make this fabulously cute + functional pouch, perfect for gallavanting or lingerie in your overnight cases. I hate to be caught going to the bathroom with my underwear in hand. :+P
